I'm in need of new radiator cap for 1969 c10. I have a 350 small block with AC/heat. The cap that came with the aluminum alloyMetalworks radiator was 1.3 bar or roughly 18-19psi. I've experienced no puking of the system and I don't have an overflow just yet. But being in Arizona things are hot right now. Im
In the process of installing a coolant overflow.

Anyway should I just use an 18psi/1.3 bar etc or go down to 13 or 16 psi cap? I've read so many conflicting posts. Get the cap for the engine not the radiator or vice versa..

I've read 18+psi is far too much for a smallblock and it's cooling system. Also I've read that 18psi is the maximum for a smallblock system. So why sell the radiator with a 19psi cap?

In my '78 blazer it has a champion aluminum radiator with overflow and a 13psi cap and I've had no issues this far.

Any advice or just tell me what to buy. Hahahaha

Issue w/ bumping pressure on many vehicles is the heater core can’t deal w/ it. Trust me you don’t want to go there.
Lower is safe.

So 13 should suffice?
