Will a front sway bar from a 1985 K20 with a corporate 10 bolt interchange with a sway bar from a 1984 K30 with a dana 60?

I am picking up a dana 60 tommorow and the guy selling it needs to keep the sway bar from the truck that the D60 is getting removed from, I am not sure if the one on my truck will still work when I swap out the front diff, and if it is different any recommendations on where to buy a new one from?

They will interchange but you need the D60 unbolt plates. The only difference in sway bars is the diameter (effecting bushings) which I believe is a year thing.

awesome, thanks for the info, I am getting the plates with the front diff
i would get the brackets too, I dont know if the K30 mounting brackets where the bushings sit are any more difficult ot find than a k20 but i know some people said the sway bar brackets were the hard things to find not the other components. They bolt to the forward crossmemeber at least on my trucks.

Ah, so you were wondering if your current sway bar on your K20 could be used iwth a D60 front, which with your current truck having one and the bolt plate being the only necessary item on that side of things, you can easily use your current u bolt plate and current stuff!?

I’m not sure if you are asking or answering but the ubolt plates for D44’s and 10 bolts (he has a K20) will not work on a D60.

Wait, nvm, I see. Hes going to use the u bolt plate and diff, but keep his current sway bar / bushings / brackets that are on the truck.

640 miles round trip, and I got the dana 60 i was searching for, but when I got there he would not budge and had changed his mind and needed to keep the U-bolts and the plate, but I was able to get the steering box.

now I need to find some u-bolts and top plates, any suggestions

Sway bars are the same and so are the spring mount plates for a D60. I got my parts from ORD. Remember the D60 only uses 3 U-bolts and 2 studs. I also run ORD's sway bar disconnect.

that is very nice looking, I like the sway bar disconnect, and I am relieved that the top plates will fit the D60, I almost walked away from buying it over not getting them, but I just didnt want to drive another 5 hours home empty handed

Ubolt plates absolutely do not interchange between a D60 and other axles.

Off Road Design sells some plate steel ubolt plates with a provision for the sway bar. Not only will these work but you’ll notice that the application is only D60’s, they offer different plates for smaller axles.
