Are they stuck, or just working around the dipstick tube and the t-case support rod?

That one was giving me trouble. Ended up using a wobble and extensions. The top right I unbolted the trans and lifted it up to tilt the engine forward. Open end wrench was rounding the bolt off, couldn't fit a 1/4 ratchet, 3/8s barely fit and took all my finger strength to break it loose. But the lines i forgot about was the trans lines bolted to the front and the heat shield bolt on the left side.

Got the engine on the stand. Pulled the intake manifold. Found bank 2 rear water jacket almost completely clogged. Cylinder 5 push rod bent.

Those front Dana 60 hubcaps probably caused this whole mess. You should remove them and sell them to me.

Donor 350 is stripped down, cleaned, ready for paint. I'm thinking machine gray for the block not sure about the valve covers.

Machine gray? Like an industrial engine?

Imho, stock black paint, GM corporate blue, or good 'ol Chevy Orange.

Although @Swims350 recently painted his engine a gold color and that looked pretty cool.

I was thinking this. But I want it more of a navy battleship kinda bluish gray. Maybe even lighter blue.
