Oh god no don't do that. All that plastic and wiring, you'll mess your engine bay up even more! If you want your engine bay to look clean, well part of a proper looking engine bay is having the right engine in there. Please don't join the LS camp, they don't make these trucks anymore let's not ruin them all. Just like a lot of the Japanese sports cars from the 80s and 90s, back in the day people thought those cars were disposable so they were all m0lested pretty hard, and now good luck finding one that isn't hacked up.I've also heard that the cat will get glowing hot. Not sure about that one though.
I was just trying to accomplish a cleaner engine bay and to pick up whatever small amount of power could be had. But it sounds like all that stuff needs to stay there. I'll rely on a 5.3L to delete it.
You can remove all that utterly useless emissions stuff no problem (depending on where you live, some states are fascist), it will run just fine if not better.
And for all those complaining about air quality, I don't know about you, but I don't routinely run my car indoors and that would be bad either way. When you're outside, well, you're outside lol. It'll blow away in the breeze. I'm not in the habit of wrapping my lips around the tailpipe... Just saying. You will be fine, don't listen to people trying to hype you up.
