This is the kinda old school shop that richard rawlings would want to come in and turn into a pep boys style shop, and lose all its flavor...

Likely pick up friday. Estimate 2hrs labor plus metal parts cost

I asked em to tuck it up as tight for ground clearance/ approach angle
As they can...
I want like top three in my mind...

Funny I feel like I am at 85% done now... But I believe they will do a good job...

So I got the midday call... "Every bracket is cut and. Fabbed up, but they need another hour".. At 110/hr thats a difference... From $220 to 330 + 50? For metal... From a shops perspective I completely get it three hours sounds about right labor wise to get the job done... The issue is more from a consumer... On craigslist I see reputable guys can make bumpers for $379 tube style front or rear, so I have a $200 bumper plus say $350 labor im not really ahead vs a $600 cal-mini bumper....but at least its unique... Cj wheels, jk bumper... "it's a chevy thing"

Anyways I didnt really like hearing it, but.... what are you gunna say at that point... So I just said ill give you another hour if you also weld on the rear diff cover, and he agreed. So that kinda makes it more palatable...

There you go. As a fabricator myself I can see how things take time and when the end user gets it they can't see it. Quality in quality out. And it's cool of them to do the add on stuff at no extra cost but on the other hand it can go the other way too where the extra hour wasn't needed they were just trying to gouge you but hopefully not. Just look it over real good before paying for it. It's easier to get them to do rework before they have your money.

Exactly... I always wonder had I not asked they would have been ready not to do the extra welding... Like last week equifax my bank card was hacked for like five uber rides in SF, and the loss peiple said ill send a replacement card in 7-10 days, im like "7-10 DAYS!!!?!!", hes like I can 2 day mail it... Same stuff, if I wouldnt have asked it wouldnt have happened... Lifes a trip like that, you dont wanna be that guy, but kinda have to be nowadays....

And this thing has grown in me too... When I first drove it after all the mods, even rubbing, it felt like .... I coulda been driving a copo camaro or ligenfelter vette or just turbo t or any rare car you feel like a bigshot cool guy in and im in a under $5k car feelin like im driving a dupont registry ... Lol

I eyeball sammies too, sometimes smog can be the hold up out here with old asian carbs and hard to find parts. They have like harley Davidson carb conversion but not smog legal. Some put in 1.6 sidekick engines, even 2.3 suzuki aerio... Some 4.3 chevy... I dont know if with my size and their size id shofter would be digging in my knee, but would be curious to try and fit... They even have these 1972ish suzuki jeep think lj even smaller but would be cool to mod out. I see trackers/ vitaras/xl7, like this build with v6 for 2000-2500$ all the time.. I guess timing chains are an issue to watch for on the v6.

I think a turbo 13B rotary and 5.13 gears would be fun in the mud. Or a TDI for the rocks.

I had was it fc3s or fds? 13b n/a racing beat exhaust header pulleys. Me and my brother made a trip to 7 stock in LA around 2004 when the rx8 just came out. Like how they rev but I got smoked by a i6 280z car.
