Most likely the window switch. Problem is, it could be either the driver side switch or passenger door switch. At least that's been my experience. The way GM wired them, could be either one.

Get out your voltmeter and pull the door panel.

On the RH door, you need to ground the brown wire to the motor and apply +12V to the dark blue solid wire to get the window to go back up. I’m willing to bet you have a broken wire inside the conduit boot between the door and cab-common problem. If you need new door harnesses lemme know-I have them in stock-everything from full Crew Cab door harnesses to relay splice kits.

I have had similar issues with mine. After posting on this forum, and not having a clue then about testing the continuity in the switch, I pulled the panel, snipped the wires to the switch and I was able to jump the wires from my battery to get it to operate...maybe this would work to get you window back up.

Sucked having to do this in 90+ dergee heat every time I drove so this past weekend, I installed a good-'ol manual hand crank to my driver door - after I replaced all the rubbers a few months ago! What a difference. Passenger side and tailgate are next!

Good luck with yours power windows man.

Many times a good smack to the bottom of the door panel while the button is in the up position will do the job.

Do you have door harness for my 84 c15. I’m trying to relocate my switches to my console and have problems with broken wires in grommets on driver door

I can supply you with a relocation window/lock harness if you would like. I’ve done quite a few for the Burb and CC guys with custom or stock consoles so yeah-it’s no biggie. Cost is $209 shipped. If you want relay upgrade add $60, if you want auto down, add $110 and if you want auto down and up add $200.

Do the harness connect directly to factory or do you have to wire together

Hello, I’m having the same issue with my 83 short box and I’m wondering if the same instructions apply to the driver side door as well, in terms of the color of wires to apply power and ground too. I’m almost positive it’s a grounding issue somewhere within my system, but I know it’s gonna take some time to fix and I need my window rolled up before it starts raining here soon.

Thank you
