Power Steering remote reservoir hose???

I seem to recall there's a factory hose to connect the remote reservoir hose to hydro boost pump when the AC option was installed. I know I can build up something with heater hose, but I'm sure the factory had a cleaner solution. I'm interested to see if ppl have some pictures of the hose routing for the remote reservoir hose to hydro boost pump with AC. And or a part number for the hose i think exists.

My line goes from the top of the ps pump over the water pump to the alt bracket where the res is. But it is discontinued, you may have to have it made. Dont use heater hose it will sweat and soften swell up it has to be oil res tubing ...not cheap per foot ...i used two 90' fittings to make the turns...... But mines a big block with coaxial compressor may not be the same

I got that specialty hose just for power steering fluids/ATF from Carquest, it is some stiff stuff, does`nt loike much of a bend bit it can be slightly curved around obstacles.

From all the hunting i did, I get to answer my own question. So maybe some useful info for someone else.
There's probably some other configurations out there, but this is what i learned. Even found some big blocks to look at but no small blocks.


On a big block truck with / with out ac the remote reservoir sits atop the alternator bracket, hose running across the top of the water pump to the steering pump.
Ive also seen a big block truck with out ac and the remote reservoir sits atop the two driver side blots of the water pump, hose S-curving to the steering pump.
On a small block there does not seem to be a factory setup with remote reservoir like i thought. Most steering pumps are local reservoir with the fill cap pointing up center or to the driver side.
The diesel also has remote reservoir option but i couldn't find any mounting location info for the remote and the fat compressor.
In the case of the 1985 -1987 bracket that i have. The correct pump would have the fill cap pointing to the passenger side when ac is installed. any other pump cocking dose not fit or allow you to remove the cap or get a hose on with the fat ac compressor in place. The older long body compressor may be a different story as it sits way higher leaving more working area around the steering pump.

The red hose I got from CarQuest will make those bends just fine, and, it seemd to be the same stuff that was on the 427 engined trucks from the seventies/eighties.

I never saw an answer to the original post other than one from MrMarty51. Is MrMaty51's the only option or is this hose available somewhere?

Yeah I'd like to know too. My 86 has the same setup as GTME94's. I just discovered my reservoir hose is leaking at the pump and leaving piddle puddles. I can't seem to find a replacement. I took this pic to see if I could get a p/n off my hose but as you can see there's not much left of it.

Good old thread. Our 87' 454. I like the 86 set up bracket when we remove our smog pump. Drill a couple holes and mount that secondary bracket for reservoir. The main bracket is $20 at parts store if I can find 2nd one.
