Has anybody seen a rear window like this? It pops out on both sides and stays in place in the center, the window is actual glass not plexiglass. I was hoping to get some more information on it.

I recently bought this truck, 83 k20 6.2l diesel, guy before me used it as a service truck.

There's like a clip in the center at the top and bottom to keep it in place

Well, I think that is the coolest back glass I have seen on this board hands down. I can't wait to find out more. It's kind of blowing my mind.

So i found some writing on the back window that says "flex-thru" cant really find any information on it, they seem to be very rare, all i could find is that it was started by Le Van Specialty Company around 1980 and is no longer around

Glass is way more flexible than most of us think. At the Corning Museum they have a mechanized display with these long pieces of glass that are twisted like ribbons, probably 45° in both directions constantly being torqued back and forth. It was quite impressive to look at. It was also interesting to note all the broken glass in the bottom of the display, so I guess it had it's limitations.

Sweet truck! That’s one of the nicer service body squares I’ve seen and that window is really neat. I would trip me out at freeway speed with both door windows rolled down!

The cab markers are a bit interesting.

@kodyharrison

Hi Kody, welcome to the forum. Sadly, the company (La Van) that made the Flex-Thru rear windows is no longer in business.

I also have one in my '82 GMC:
