If you look in any repair manual, .35 gap is for 250 CID and anything that is running breaker points. With an HEI it reccomends .45, but after building dozens of engines and running them in Moab and the drag strip I've found out that .40 with an HEI works the best. I run autolite 24 at the track and 26 offroad......but hey, I tip my hat since you apparently have more experience than me.
I have seen a spec for .35 for HD use for HEI. But your correct the spec for normal HEI is .45.

I really don't think there will be much difference in my motor. But go with what you said.

Gap is also .035 .... I noticed that after I posted.

I use Accel shorty header plugs. They provide the clearance I need to keep from roasting my plug boots.

No idea what " heat range they is". They screwed in...motor runs good.

Dats all I knows.

Love it ! Wheels, stance, bed rails.. very cool
