New to this forum and ill try and keep this updated as the build continues.
Living in the seattle area (not in the city to many people) started overlanding a bit in my 2016 jeep 4 door but i keep wanting something more dedicated/less worried about body damage.
So the time for the goods.....

The goal - Super simple - less things to go wrong - slow and overbuilt - mild cost to operate (tires/fuel/build)

The canidate

1987 GMC 3/4 Ton Burban

6.2 Detroit Diesel
TH400
NP208
Heavy tow package
G80 locker
Quad front shocks
10 Bolt front axle
14 Bolt SF rear
Hydroboost brakes

Step 1

TH400 is slipping BADLY so SM465 time

SM465 with long 32 spline output and NP208 adapter. and all the manual swap parts (pedals,z bar, linkage) Free from a friend

Ill reuse the 208 and drive shafts in the truck right now to same some cost and get some more miles on the motor before step 2

Step 2

NP208 to NP205 Swap - need to get the tranfur case input swapped to 32 spline, and the spacer for the adaptor since this SM465/205 combo is 10 spline (gross) and then twin stick

Came with a fully rebuilt front drive shaft and a rear two piece shaft (need ujoints and carrier bearing)

Step 3,4,5 ........ (once i get some miles on it)

35's
4 inch rough country lift
rear shackle flip
Ham Radio
CB - out of the jeep
Ipad with Satellite GPS
Bumpers
Winch - Warn 12k off the jeep
light bars
on board water tank

If you have any manual conversion questions or need something measured let me know.

She might end up this color - with a white roof

Sounds like a great project.

You might want to look at Tuff Country instead for your front lift- it will ride softer/nicer.

Welcome!
