yea, im just soooo close to haveing my truck up and running i just feel crushed ya know.... And yea i have no idea were that driveshaft ended up ive looked high and low and back and forth in that yard and non of the guys that work there have any idea. So the only other one i found was that beat up one i stole the yoke off of. (how bad is to bad for a drive shaft i think to myself) also i just stumbled across this website tonight holy i feel educated http://www.chevyk5blazer.com/forums...-Transfer-case-drive-train-axle-guide-Part-1&

NO doubt dawg. I feel for you. I just know you're kicking yourself in the ass for not getting the dshaft from your donor. I kinda feel the idgit should have thrown it in for you. And I kinda feel like crap for NOT insisting you getting it. But, I also watch to many threads.

That link you show as being educated, kinda made me feel good, but old too. I identified 90% of the parts as soon as I seen them. What I didn't know and got a woody over, was that Saginaw 3 speed with the NP205. And that's a fully synchroed Saggy. Gives me hope of a M21 or M22 being married to an NP205. But then again, I'm pretty sure I'll be just as impressed with this A833 I got. Just not as close ratio is all. Still got the side shifted trans, Hurst Comp shifter, so all will be good and it wil sure satisfy my itch, and I can run a low ass gear if I want having OD, so it's actually probably even better.

Back at the ranch, yeah I wish I had a damn dshaft for you. I'd hook you up cheap as I could.

yea i know ur busy as hell with this forum and trust me i rly appreciate it when u chat with me and yes im rly rly kicking myself but then again lesson learned as this is a on going project for me. One thing that rly bothers me about this junk yard is the guys that work there hardly know anything about these trucks so they are no help.....which i find rly odd since they are a min of maybe 45 yrs old. One thing i was thinking while i was reading that other site is maybe i should dig throught the grass out there and dig me up an np205 and maybe i can just use a slip yolk driveshaft then...

Looking for shafts in the junk yard sucks canal water. I'd just run a conversion u-joint until you can afford to have a shaft made.

I was thinking so too. IIRC, even the SM465 was still fixed yoke in 80 but Autos were slip.

It was a wheelbase thing. Anything with a 2-piece shaft got a fixed yoke, everything else was a slip yoke.

Aha, that makes sense too. So you're much more likely to get a Fixed Yoke shaft and Tcase for that matter out of a Long Bed or Crew Cab. I"ll remember that.

Well its up and running. I got to say it has a good stance to it, not to high and rides great now. Got my brakes bled and lub's topped off. Just need's a goooooood bath then polish them rims till they shine and the carb tuned then ima rip the box off and fix the left fuel tank and then clean and paint the frame.

One thing tho guys, my steering bloooooows :lazer: :doublepuke: it was bad with the old steering wheel then replaced that and it was better but not great but now with these tires and stuff its worse than ever, everything is tight except the steering stem. But i cant rly tell if its the stem or the gear box..... I think i want to buy one of them jeep upgrades from one of you guru's if you would shoot me a price (pulled, cleaned and painted and rdy to install).

P.S. For thos who forgot/didn't see wat i started with

So you need some work done on that new front axle huh? Speedo driven gear in the Tcase is gonna need changed to recalibrate your speedo.

If you get a chance, pull your speed drive assembly off the Tcase and take a pic of it for me. Just the part that the cable is threaded to and the driven gear that comes out with it. Then gimme your tire size, and gear ratio. I should be able to tell you what driven gear you'll need to correct the speedo.

Need to know the whole tire size so I can convert that to a tire height. 265/75R16 or whatever it is. Convert the tire height cuz I'll need to know that to figure this formula out.

Anyone know for sure how many teeth are on the Drive gear of an NP203? I'm not familiar with NP203's at all.
