Wel I dont know about down where you are but Napa doesnt have anything on the shelves up here

Oh and I dont know what your putting the ff on, but no parking brake is pretty hard on automatics not as bad on a standard but still unnecessary stress

I think this is probably the best deal on the net its just the caliper brackets and bolts but this offset bracket is a much sturdier altenative to spacing a flat bracket

It's an alternative, but you can use Mico electric toggle switch park brake. But even then, some states don't count that. They want a manual locked cable or lever operated brake. I don't blame them either. If you're that interested in Disc Brakes, just go for the Eldorado Calipers set up and do it right.

Swapping to the dics shaves a bunch of unspung weight. I run 4:10s in my outfit on 35's now and the rpms are around 21-2300 at 60mph. If your not running on the road( pavement ) a whole bunch just weld( licoln locker) the rear end, the 14bff hold up pretty well to it, look up " orb of traction" on youtube. I'll be welding mine up soon, but mine sees maybe 300miles of pavement a year the rest is offroad or in a mud pit. If on road try for a Eaton tru trac, I have one in my 01 GMC and I drive the ever living wall out of it with absolutely no problems.

A lot of guys will tell you the D44 fronts are a waste of time, but if its the big hub units they are really stout and are lighter than the D60. They have a tendency to break stub shafts when being pounded on but a lot guys pass them over looking for the D60s making them cheaper to buy.

Well i was adding up all the missing parts on my dana and i think im'a forget about the disc rears for now. My two 14b are pretty much stone solid, one needs brakes cleand but other is good. But my dana is missing a spindle, a locking hub, 2 brake discs, that tie rod, a hub, u joints are shot, prolli need a bearing and seal kit, and ring and pinion are shot..... damn, but this is off a 3/4 ton from 73 so does that mean its the stout one? I'll prolli just go looking for a donor dana cus parts are expensive for this for wat i paid for it lol.

Also any reason why my dana is 4.09 and the matching rear is 4.10? i have found another complete dana with 4.09 again for 200 bucks (maybe i can talk him down) but still at 200 its waaaaay cheaper than me fixing mine.

And your sure it's a Chevy/GMC Dana 44? And Passenger side drop? and 8 lug, not 6 lug? He'd be a fool if he don't take $150 for it. Also, don't be afraid of 10 bolt fronts either. Some will say the D44 is stronger. Well it is in one area. And the 10 bolt is stronger in another. Neither is bullet proof or a grade A in strength, so pick your poison. I'll run 10 bolts because they are much more common, and that misconception they are weaker than 10 bolts, and pick up about as many 10 bolts as you want for $100 to $125. And if you play hard, plan on breaking it occasionally, so having spare parts for front axles is not a bad idea.

Not sure why he's calling it a 77-87, when it's actually a 73-77 and can be used in Squares up thru 91 in K5 Blazer and 4x4 Burbs. But, yes, that one is the gear you want, already converted to 8 lug for you, so that there does have advantages for you. You'd spend $200 in gears and 8 lug converting your 10 bolt. I wasn't trying to talk you out of the D44, just pointing out, you have that option too and don't be afraid of it. Work that guy over on the D44. I wouldn't pay over $100 for one, but being it has 2 things you're looking for, 4.09's and 8 lugged, I'd be willing to step up to $150 just for the convenience, and you do have a few spare parts for it already too. You have good options either way you go.

Ok well ima scratch that one cus it would be almost 20hrs, guess i was thinking it was closer. But I have a change of plans (i sound like you ) I took a 2hr lunch today and hit the local junk yard and this place is big, but i must have found the one and only 8 lug front in the joint. Its a 8 lug gm10 bolt front, its complete and looks good, but down side it has 3.08's in it fuuuuggggg. And my dana's 4.10's are shot soooo i still need gears on top of this thing, He wanted $300 for it i talked him down to atleast $250. which i guess aint bad since i don't have to drive anywhere. So my guestion is wat gears for front 4.09/4.10/4.11? also is there anything wrong with rockauto's USA Standard Gears? they got 4.11 for $127.

Now wait, for $250 to buy the 10 bolt, and to buy gears, can't you just fix your Dana 44 that you bought for less than that???

yeah don't get like me. I have to many damn parts, and to many damn trucks, short on time and cash to buy just the little bits need to get something complete. Like now I have the manual trans and Tcase I want in one of my 4x4's but I still want to build them before I install them. Also need clutch/brake pedals and hydros.

Ahh, I get it. But do keep in mind, if you have the cash, don't be afraid to spend a little more to have new. Not saying this is a good deal, cuz it don't sound like it. Sounds like the D44 needs alot and will make a good parts axle for someone, just maybe not you.

When you buy a used axle ready to bolt in, it's just that. USED. Where as if you bought something cheap and it needed a few things, then you got USED with some NEW and likely to be good for you for a long time.

yea i feel like a loaner up here in NODAK i do have a buddy that makes the trip to you once a year but he's made it already this year. I'ma try and talk him into just selling me the knuckle-out cus that will all fit on my dana right?
