Paint help

Ill start by saying I really have no experience doing paint and body work.

Im working on painting my 84 k10. I got some trash on the hood. I decided to wet sand and spray some more coats of clear. All was going well except for one spot and I wanted to get opinions on if and how it can be fixed before I respray.

Ive attached two pics one wet and one dry. The problem is the light blue dot. If it wasnt right on the front corner id just not worry about it. Its the primer under the basecoat. I guess its a tiny high spot or something, who knows.

Anyways How can I fix this?

Short of re sanding to color and blending in, how do you feel about a hood mounted bug deflector?

Can try dropping paint in to the low spot using needle brush and then a drop of clear. Then wet send and buff to blend

Re sanding the whole hood to color? Pfffttt, ill just call it character if thats the case.

I may try something like this or just leave it as is.

May have been oil contamination in the color step.

The dot looks like it is right on the front corner. You could take some tape and roll the edge up along the top edge of the hood so you don't get an edge at all and mask of the rest of the hood and kind of blend in your base. Turn the pattern down and turn in the fluid needle. Test it out on some scrap paper to make sure your pattern is small enough and your not going to get a run. Then peal the masking paper off and clear the rest of the hood again.
It looks like you have it all wet sanded already. You could assist the base over 1000 grit sand scratches without issue. It will stick, especially since it is fresh

I had a buddy who put painted butterflies in the blemishes.

Stripe it, put a decal over it....... I’ll just shut up now.

Hey robe,
Thinking about your dilemma, I’m going to be putting a protective (clear) film over the nose of my hood. While driving my truck over the last 2500 miles on the highway, rock chips have appeared in that area. Maybe a simple color dab then cover it up would be the best if you are going to drive it? Chips are inevitable.
BTW: I totally agree, the color is great, more pics would be appreciated. Never know how many may get inspired!
