Opinions + Pictures needed on a 2/4 drop for a C10

You heard it right.
I decided I'm going to drop my c10 a 2/4.

Here's my opinion:

The moog big block coils I already have installed in my burb.
2" drop spindles
In the back, just a shackle and hanger kit to drop it 4"

I'm planning for now to run a 27-28" tire up front, and a 30" fat tire in the back

I don't think I'll go any lower, as I'm not wanting to also change headers, plus, I really don't want to have to go thru extensive measures just to change oil.

2/4 is what I'm set on.

I'll be doing all new front suspension components, brakes, lines, and steering components while I'm there anyways, so tell me your thoughts on it.

Here's the truck as it sits with the big block squatting the front stock coils down.

Just wondering what everyone's opinions are ? What they did ? Maybe post a pic of a before and after of your rig on a 2/4 drop?

I'll likely have to cut my tubs out a little to clear the 12.5" wide slicks I bought.. when I do, thinking I'll just cut them, cut the bed, and then extend them and reweld.

But that's not the point here. I want suggestions / opinions / pics on a 2/4 drop

I was also looking at these guys for the 2/4 but my issue is, they sell front drop coils for a stock c10 with presumably a sbc

I'll just have the same issue again with it squatting the front down having the big block under the hood.

Which is why I was thinking the moog "big block" coils that can be ran in a c10


I put the moog coils in my suburban as part of the total suspension overhaul in it. I like them, they're springy as it's got a 350, but my purpose in installing those were to stop the front from bouncing when I hit a bump while towing.

Hoping maybe theyd work out good in my c10?

I think it looks fine stock.

I think you'll like it with a 2/4 drop. It's not really enough to cause problems with clearance and probably most people wouldn't even know that you did it. If it were me I'd do the springs you like and use the drop spindle.

2/4 drop level issue

I installed a 2/4 McCaughys Maxtrax drop level suspension. Kit came with no instructions, couldn’t find any online. With never installing a lowering kit before we put the drop shackle in the rear of the leafs and now I’m starting to get a knot in my bed bottom. would I be able to move the drop...

2/4 is a pretty mild drop so all should be good. Low enough for that sport look and looking good but not so low to cause issues

Vince you know asking for "opinions" is dangerous. You want my opinion? Trucks go up, sports cars go down, plain and simple.

Especially your truck, the whole point of a sleeper is to leave it looking unassuming. You lower it and now you might as well toss some 20s on there or something. Stock looking people are gonna hear your exhaust and see your beat ass truck and think "right, rredneck thinks he's cool with his V8", then be flabberghasted when their mustang gets left in the prehistoric dust that once was your tires and the asphalt under your truck. Lower the thing and now people might think "oh okay, here's a guy in his hopped up classic squarebody, you know they put big engines in those trucks"

I think you should lift it an inch or two and slap some E-load 31" truck tires under it. Then it will actually look like a truck for hauling big loads and not swallowing them .
