That’s my led fog light plan. Considering painting my grill and headlights trim white as well. I don’t want to spend $$ on silver paint when I have plenty of white.
Cool plan. Thought about a couple led cubes in each opening. Bright white and yellow fog.
However not a fan of painting grille and bezels white though. For the $30-40 to get a pint of silver/argent. Maybe a bit less if you get creative. JMO. Your truck looks awesome even though you consider it a budget backyard job. White ain’t right in this case! Lol

Painting the hood white with a couple rally stripes so it might look okay white. Thanks for the kind words.

I'm thinking about trying to mount some pods in my valence, kinda like an OBS had.

I owned and drove an '81 C10 Custom Deluxe for 11 years and I grew to really like the grille. They're unique and seemed sturdier than say the 73 through 79 grilles at least in my opinion.
You have a nice looking pickup. Mine was dark metallic brown like yours, SWB, 250, 3 speed on the column, manual steering and brakes. A very simple and reliable vehicle. I bought it used in AK and like I said, drove it daily for 11 years. About the only modification I did to it was to add a leaf in the rear as I used it to haul firewood fairly often. Excellent truck!

Still think it would be cool to use a 81-82 bumper on a later model and have a spot in the bumper for fog lights or driving lights.
Fog lights?

Yet another reason I fckin love the look of that truck!
Those just look like a second set of turn signals though. Did he make em in to driving lights or??
I used the stock 81-82 bumper and turn signal housings, wired it to a relay and a flip switch to keyed power so I don't forget to turn them off. Just used stock bulbs that fit in them. I tried LED ones but they never worked right with the grounds. Looks better if you run soft white headlights too. I use them more as daytime running lights.

The grille on the ‘84 was one of the first attractions to the truck, body color divider. Of course my favorite, that said I strongly believe in keeping cars and trucks original as possible. Can’t go wrong!

81-82 grill has a lot of character; I like it so much that I bought one to go with that year’s front bumper.

I like the 81-82 GMC grille much better than the bowtie. My 87 had an 81-82 radiator support & grille put on after the OE was damaged (I reckon). I had a 91 Sub that I bought for parts & always liked the look of those 89-91 RV trucks. So, I used that clip on my 87.
There are opinions galore with mine included. Personally, I love the 85-87 Scottsdale/Silverado grille & quad lights. I didn't have that setup or I'd used on my 87 Custom Deluxe.
