Couple more step sides, something different.

@Lugnut,

That's like those '70's, '80's special custom painted pickups. Some were okay some weren't. That one is okay.

@Doppleganger, #2 LOVE IT.

@78C10BigTen, I know this guy from his hot rod shows on TV, the shows are all good, and his antique cars to. He knows a lot about them.

@Lugnut,

Before I repainted mine it was like the green and white truck you've got there, almost the same. Mine was trimmed like that one, like all the trim for a Custom Deluxe, Kelly Green Metallic, and White center and top of cab. When we took the front end off we were able to see a unblemished frontal cab area that still glittered like new. It was amazing. I almost changed my mind about painting it.

@Craig 85, I like it. I think I like the triple tones a lot! Of course all these trucks are great, great colors.

And I agree the two tone pickup is GM's claim to fame in the truck industry. And we have the best two and triple tones. It's the shape of the truck, guys. A Dodge just doesn't have the shape, and even though a Ford is kinda similar in shape, we've got the right curves in the right places for two tones, and stripes and whatever. I know Ford had their striped trucks back in the '70's, and the Ford color I liked the most was the dark blue metallic and that cream dark tan their trucks had on them back in the 80's I think. I really liked those colors together.

Maybe a little controversial, but I’m surprised no one has posted any of the woody combos. I’m seriously debating buying some vinyl to make our blazer into a proper forest crawler.

Like everyone else, I pull off photos of paint schemes I like where ever I find them. Don't remember where this '76 Suburban came from, but it was at a truck show in Austin TX last. I hope the truck owner and photographer don't mind me borrowing the image (better to ask for forgiveness than permission ;)). This is the scheme I plan using on my next project, a late model 4x4 Suburban.

My all time favorite is the scheme I selected when I purchased my '88 V-Jimmy new. Please excuse the paint on the truck now, it is only 33 yo original. My body shop guy lost his shop building to the I-35 expansion project, and hasn't finished his new one yet.

I painted my '92 S10 Blazer sport with that same paint scheme back in the day. Granted it was only a rattlecan job, but I loved the look of it
