If you haven’t already- it’s not a bad idea to go to Fleabay and pick up a Truck Manual for your year. The wiring diagrams are handy for when you find a stray wire. The wiring diagrams are not the easiest to read (I guess I got spoiled by the Bentley manuals for VW/Audi years ago) but they’re very comprehensive. And of course, you’ll have everything else that it’ll help you with too. Just a suggestion, best of luck to ya.

This is where I got the colored wiring diagrams

That's sweet that that is available. I had no idea these were out there.

The tech section on the forum has scans of the service manuals. I printed all the wiring diagrams from one out on 11x18 sheets and laminated them myself. Worked great except they are only as good as the scans. That website is a nice alternative.

Yea I hate trying to decipher thru the black and white diagrams. Found these off another forum and was like yup I’m getting those!

I believe that one goes to a second oil pressure switch which controls power to your electric choke,no power to the choke if the engine isnt running

How about this one? I forgot I need to look at that plug still verify 2 or 3 prong. But looking at pic again you’re right appears to only have 2 terminals.

I didn't look at your oreilly pic,at this point it's not a good decision to make. The switch is different if it's behind the distributor, than it is if it is by the oil filter.Verify where your wires can reach the neatest and allow your other wires to reach where they need. Then we can pic a switch. It will be a normally open switch 2 pin but the thread will be 1/4 npt or 1/8 npt depending on location.

By where the wires are they can go above the oil filter. The oil pressure gauge plug came out with the distributor wire.

Some cars had a fitting and the pressure sender and the choke pressure switch both screwed into that fitting behind the distributor. If the wires reach with sufficient slack to the oil filter, verify the plug at the oil filter is 1/4 npt I think it's 1/4npt if it goes behind the distributor it will be 1/8 npt. As I am typing this I just realized it won't really make a difference use 1/8 npt if it is to small just use a reducer bushing from the plumbing section of the hardware store. I'll get you a part number tomorrow. I've got one in my truck box as we speak. But it's cold and dark out.

Sounds good thank you! And yes I’m pretty sure one by distributor is 1/4” npt . But this block is an older block, 73, so I may need to verify there is a plug above the filter.
