I don't know what's been done, I got it all from a buddy who got if from someone he worked with. When my buddy got all of it, the stuff was all still fresh and wrapped in plastic. He didn't know anything about what had been done, that was probably 7-8-9 years ago. The heads still look pretty good and are assembled, the block really needs cleaned up with a hone at least.

I don't know anything about Olds motors and have nothing to put one in. I'd rather have 100 bucks, lol.

But now you are sorta getting me curious, what all can I get for this thing to make it complete that is common? Will a common 307 do me any good for rods, tinwork, dizzy, and hardware?

So you don't know unless you mic it. Damn, it might be a fresh bore even. Yep, 307 wlll help you out on a 350. Don't use any of the 307 valvetrain though unless you work over the 350 block for it. Later 307's are Roller Motors. But the Rods and even the crank should fit the 350 IIRC. 350 is larger bore, but they are the same strokes. You could use all the starter, brackets and pulleys from the 307 too. Both are Olds Small Blocks.

When I get some free time I'll have to mic it out of curiosity. And if I can't find a home for it, maybe I'll find a cheap 307 to use as a donor.

...and then I'll have to find something to put it in. Dammit, see what you've started?!

Just put it in one your trucks. You'll see the torque difference for sure.

I already have plans for all of them. The C10 gets a zippy 327 or 350, the '83 K5 gets the TBI 350 out of Krusty (converted to CrossFire), Porky sticks with the SBC, the '79 already has a fresh 454, the '77 K5 and Lurch both get 454's. I'd have to buy a mid 80's Cutlass with a bad 307 or something.

'68 to ''76 block , '71 heads. You'll notice it has very thick cyl walls.
Easy to build ; 362 ci , 374ci , with this block and a stock cast crank, or 385ci to 396ci with a older steel crank and a lot of machine work.

Heads can accept up to a 2.10" intake valve, (bigblock 2.072" & 1.71" valves are installed most often).

Mr. Nick Jeffries made 600 HP and 500 FT LBS, with a block just like this, a reworked OEM steel crank - stroked, and a set of ported factory iron heads like these. 374ci.

I just scrapped an Olds 425 Forged Crank. Had it listed on ebay and CL several times with bids and buyers anywhere from $50-$100 and a bunch of fuggin idiots who never showed up to buy it. When I scrapped that last truck I threw in the 425 Crank, a set of G 455 heads and matching 4bbl intake, oil pans, valve covers and timing covers. I know I'm going to regret it but I've got to much ****. I figured if I had enough money for an Olds 455 conversion someday that I've dreamed of for years, I'd have money for an LS conversion instead so away they went. :sad72:

I did have them listed on ClassicOldsmobile.com and had a buyer about 20 minutes away who was going to come by several times and never did. Also sold the crank on eBay 2x for $50 and then they didn't want to pay shipping when it was a Local Pick Up only auction in the first place. But, I'm all out of Olds parts now. Made me sick to see the few I had left sitting around knowing I sold my 425 and both of my 455's. Sucked to scrap them cuz they were great shape parts, but no use for Olds Cranks, Manifolds and Heads without a complete motor. Just got sick of the tire kickin' liars.

I'm a disappointed that you were unable to get an Olds 455 in a square too. My grandad put a Buick 430 in a truck that was a 350 Diesel tuck originally at least 20 years ago now. Said the thing was a riot to drive until the parts store gave him a set of plugs that were too long and punched holes in the pistons

Ohhh that sucks ass !!! And of course the auto parts store didn't take responsibility.

You're not as disappointed as I am. It had been a dream of mine for years to build a ChevrOldslet truck. I'd much rather run an Olds 455 than a Chevy 454.

When you finally get to do this truck, I think a GMC grill would be more fun.

GO GET THAT BITCH !!! The last one I stole for $100, I sold as a core for $400 with heads and intake. Nothing else. No brackets, no flywheel, nothing, heads and intake as rebuildable core for $400. If you want, go get it, tell me the #s on the front of the engine by the oil fill tube, they are bigger #'s not just little stamped #s, more like casting #'s, and the Big Letter off the heads, Should be like a C D E F or G, it won't be an F cuz if it was, those are like $2000 heaads. Very uncommon. But you get my drift.
