Hi all,
just dropped my tank to prep for diesel lines and stuff, and read about the older galvanized tanks being no good for diesel. Has anyone retrofitted a different plastic tank in? any direction as to which tanks might work?
I have a fleetside 8 foot box, with tank ahead of the rear axle. 20 gal.
cheers

I'd just order a tank for a 5.7L diesel squarebody. Being it was a diesel, I'd assume it would work just fine. A tank from a 6.2L diesel square may work as well, but I think the filler neck is a different size than the earlier tanks.

I talked to a few old gm guys, and they said they have swapped between gas a diesel tanks all the time, no issues. So I went for it.
