Replaced dash bezel and trim, LMC bezel looks good but the alum trim came flat but when installed looks warped and won’t stay down. I’ve used usa1 and OER, my question is are these all coming from the same mfg. I was thinking of ordering the OER version to see it’s of better quality.

No, they're not all coming from the same place. USA1 likely sources theirs so idk where they get it but I know LMC and OER both tool most of their own stuff (OER will denote on their website if it's someone else's and LMC only carries their own stuff).

I work for AMD and we've developed our own version. We're waiting on those overlays to come in and then I'll be installing one in my truck. I'm not sure how I'm going to approach the install just yet but it's definitely a finicky thing to get that laid on there properly.

Oh snap! You might know my buddy Eddy. I was in a club with him back when I lived in Florida and we did a huge car show every year. I just started seeing his AMD videos on the web. Small world I reckon.

@Loren it helps if you clean the surface of all old glue and residue thoroughly first. It also helps if you just bite the bullet and take the entire instrument bezel out and lay it on the tailgate so you can get to it better.

Also, don't do like my dumb a$$ did and not notice the "clear" plastic overlay. I drove around for two months completely disgusted with the dull and ugly appearance of the brushed aluminum...and then peeled off the cover. Mine actually looks like the OE did.

All of the above done. Let the cab sit in the sun today and was able to massage it in better, still a work in progress.

I emailed USA today to see if they even had them in stock. No reply but I expect not - I love their products but seriously have no idea how they stay open with nothing in stock 75% of the time since about 3 yrs ago. Took about 6-8 weeks to get my dash pad and that was the fastest order I ever had with them. They had all their stuff made in Taiwan and was moving it back to the US last I heard. Would love to see these bezels customized a bit.....like a couple extra gauge areas up where the vent is, etc.

A lot of those re-pops are made/suppled from same manufacturer overseas. Especially the GM Restoration parts, just different distributors. I really like my dash overlay I got from LMC, you just have to rub hard in a couple places to keep it stuck.

You can buy the new bezel and the brushed overlay for about $30 cheaper through LMC. I'm pretty sure they are made by the same supplier.

Thanks, i have the LMC and am having problems. Was interested in a bezel with the aluminum trim pre-installed. Can’t seam to get the trim to lay down flat with the LMC

When I bought my truck, the gauge bezel looked like it was probably still the original, so I never gave it any thought. When we started doing development on the bezels, I realized someone had at least put new trim on it and the film was still on it  Rode around like that for a year and a half lol

Let me know when you get these in stock. The LMC ones suck!! The adhesive only works for a short time and comes off.

Doing my dash bezel overlay soon so thanks for all the info.
My 2 cents: Here's how the sign makers apply pressure sensitive vinyl. Some vinyl is thicker than the overlay material. A hair dryer can soften the adhesive, and if you think it's safe to squeege the fluid out from under the overlay (with protective film on) without scratching it, you'll probably need one or a couple of squeegees cut to fit the narrow areas of the bezel. You can order this fluid through any sign supply distributor that sign shops buy from:

The Original Rapid Tac Application Fluid For fast, easy, quality installation of graphics with no bubbles, even in cold weather. Rapid Tac Application Fluid also cleans the substrate without leaving residues ensuring a contaminant free installation. It then helps to “float” the vinyl film until it is properly positioned. Rapid Tac Application Fluid’s best feature is that it effectively breaks the surface tension of the adhesive on the film allowing it to flow and bond to the substrate more effectively than even a dry application. It is now possible to achieve a full bond in as little as ninety seconds. Your customers and your reputation will benefit from higher-quality applications. Your bottom line will benefit from faster applications and less failures as well.
  1. Clean surface thoroughly with Rapid Tac and a kitchen paper towel. DO NOT USE OTHER CLEANERS OR SOLVENTS. (We do recommend Rapid Prep as a pre-cleaner for surfaces that may have been exposed to wax, silicone, or other suspected contaminants)
  2. Spray surface again with Rapid Tac, peel backing off decal and place on wet surface.
  3. Position decal. Use squeegee to remove fluid, using a good deal of pressure and working from the center out to the edges in all directions.
  4. Wait 2-3 minutes. Saturate paper cover tape, if any, with Rapid Tac, then remove paper tape. Dab surface with soft absorbent cloth.
