nv4500 to np208

can someone kindly explain to me what transfer case adaptor I need to run a nv4500 with a np208 transfercase

this will be a new chevy transmission just a bare trans(no bellhousing which I have, or no adaptor so I need to find one)

I know the np241 adapter works, I think the np243 adapter is the same also. Not entirely sure, but I think.

does a 1996 chevy 2500 have a 241?

I thought only half tons had 241

the back of your nv4500 should look like this one the adapter is part of the tranny and is for the 241 tcase. witch is a direct swap for a 208 as long as you have a 208 from a turbo 400 or 85 and newer sm465 32 spline

a 241 and a 208 mount the same to the tranny

the nv4500 is a 32 spline output

I put a 208 behind a nv4500 in my 85 I had to rework the shifter mount in the floor but the rest was bolt together with stock gm parts

241 was used in the heavier trucks too, with a 32 spline input. That started in '89 even in our bodystyle. It replaced the 208.

I am 99 percent sure that is correct but it is not really an adapter it is the rear of the tranny for a 4x4

I have not bolted it up yet but I have a 85 and up round pattern 205 that I believe will bolt to a nv4500 as well. I think only a shifter bracket will be needed for that.
