Anyone have the front half of a NP208 transfer case housing sitting around? The one I is missing a chunk of aluminum out of the bottom from a rock or something. It came that way to me and was patched with some JB Weld. Keeps leaking out of it and after redoing the patch it still leaks. I'm sick of messing with it. Can't seem to find an affordable case for sale as a donor, everyone wants $300.

So anyone out there have a case torn apart that has a decent front half they wouldn't mind selling?

By the time you find one,buy one, have it shipped, etc. I think you'll have more money invested than paying a local welder to heli arc the case. Just a thought.

Some pictures would be helpful.

A weld repair could certainly be viable.

If you are dead set on a replacement case, you might have better luck finding a complete unit instead of a bare case. Then make two into one.

At least, that is how it is with my search for an np241 DLD for my Cummins.

Yeah I've been down this road some already. I picked up a whole case a few years ago to try and use. Tore it open only to find that the landing surface for the thrust bearing on the front output shaft was destroyed. Whole thing ended up being worthless to me as all of my other parts are fine. The $300 units I find for sale are complete, which I of course don't really need. I still think $300 is too much for an old tcase, but the market bears what the market bears.

That would be great. Thanks!

Do you still have the one you thought is worthless? Can the the thrust surface be machined and a shim used?

Yeah I have all the stuff sitting in a box. I could potentially go that route. I think vr1967 is going to come through for me though. We've been chatting and he had one sitting around.
