Hello all. I'm currently in the process of LS swapping the square with a 6.0 and 4l80e trans. The truck was originally SBC and SM465/NP205. I'm using the Advanced Adapters conversion kit # 50-0410 for my 2wd 4l80e swap with the NP205. I'm having a machine shop handle the tcase install kit/machining for the larger bearing. I know that I will have to cut the output shaft of the trans down, and that the crossmember will also have to be relocated.

This kit also states that "The 4WD linkage mounting bracket will need to be relocated further forward to allow for the added length of the new transmission." Has anyone ran into this issue? I was hoping to retain the original tcase shifter/linkage and was curious to know what others have done/seen with this setup. Thanks

I don’t see anything special about the kit, it appears to use a modified copy of the pre ‘85 400/205 adapter with a threaded boss on the passenger side for the shifter pivot bolt.

‘91 squares could have had a 4l80e/205 and the shifter is in the same general spot as any other typical 205 combo. I wouldn’t stress over anything yet and assemble it as is to see where the stick lands. You might have to trim the hole back some but I doubt it.

Any relocation of the shifter pivot bolt will be custom as all 205’s have the pivot bolt on the adapter.
