Damn, you're good - yes, it was already warm by the time we drug out the camera phone. LOL.

I just heard a touch of vapor lock is all. Figured it had to warmed up already, or the timing was way advanced. Big blocks do hold heat so it can be somewhat common if the timing is advanced a bit to far. MIght try backing it off 2 degrees or so.

I too am in California your gonna wait along time for the law to change SMOG dates I'm afraid. We have property in rural Mendocino where there is no SMOG required I am trying to "move" there ;-)

LOL, yes.

Yes, too quiet! Long tube headers into a single full length exhaust (3"?), no cat(s) but it's got two inline mufflers - a flowmaster and some stainless can I don't recognize. Plan to remove the latter and turn down for now. What's the favorite exhaust setup around here?

Quiet is the best. ALCO Sheriff Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanto love to give loud exhaust tickets, and yes, the Traffic units carry DB meters. Your exhaust looks like there is a big block flowmaster, and maybe a dynomax ultra flow after. I wouldnt change it, leave it a sleeper!
