Thanks for letting me join the board. While I'm new here I have been wrenching and doing message boards for 20 + years. Past projects included 91 spirit R/T, and a tdi Jetta.
What brings me here is my brother's 1986 K20. It has a 4 speed manual, and a 350 4 barrel carb. It's used around town and his small 75 acre farm. Right now there is no intention to make it a highway cruiser. The has a 2000 dodge with a Cummins for today kind of work.
The engine is burning a lot of oil, so we are starting to look into an ls swap but not sure what to do about an ECU. Do do we use the donor or go with something like Megasquirt? If we use the donor ECU what do we do about imports we don't have (auto tranny).
Plus as you guys know there are all the details like motor mounts, what headers to use, and a ton of other odds and ends I would like to find answers for. I will be searching and digging around to figure it out. If you guys have any links or other resources feel free to post them.
