New to thread

Hello. I`m new to the thread and I was looking for some info. I`m looking to buy a 1985 c30, but it needs work and I`m trying to price it out so I can have an idea on what the truck is going to cost me, and also what to offer for it. Its a 1985 with 67k miles. He doesn't know if its 167k or 67k. Is there anything I should watch out for, any gremlins, etc?

Also its going to need new front fenders, both sides. New Tires, all 6. Drivers window shattered, going to need replaced. It has set up for dual fuel tanks, but only has one. What is it going to cost me to replace all these parts? Guy is looking for 1800 for it. But its going to need work, not to mention a paint job. Guy says it has a Dana 80 with 4.56 gears in it. Anything I should watch out for with tranny? Is it good? I`m not to familiar with Dana 80s.

Any help and insight that could be given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Andres

I would assume it has at least 167K miles. It just depends. You may be able to get the Carfax and deduce the mileage and maybe gather a few other little nuggets. The rust likes to live on rockers and cab corners sometimes. Inner fenders, too. See if you can find good used parts before jumping to new parts. You'll come out cheaper with better quality parts. I'm guessing it has a 454 in it. What transmission is in it? A TH400? Strong, beefy transmission. A Saginaw Muncie? Same. The DANA 80 is the axle, which is good. The offer is dependent on the quality of the truck. Is it hacked? Does it run and drive well? Can you see the potential in it? If it's good minus the things you mentioned, I'd offer 15 and see where that goes. Do you have pictures of it?

There are all kinds of companies, LMC, Brothers, National Parts Depot, Rock Auto, Classic Chevy, Summit, Jegs just to name a few...I would also look at Craigs List.

I think I have a drivers side window. I have a bunch of parts, and a few others on here may have what you need. Get your posting up, and get to know a few people here. We really are a good bunch of guys here...lots of knowledge. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the only stupid question is the one unasked. That don't mean we wouldn't make fun of you and laugh at you, (we do give each other **** here) but we will answer your question.

Well the purple truck didn't pan out for me and I still can't post in the wanted thread. So I'll just start by asking here. I'm looking for a square body, only things that I ask it's a 454, with a manual. If you know of one please share the info with me. I haven't been able to find one at all, and I looked through the for sale section and couldn't find anything. Am I looking in the right spot? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
