The lift is a 4" Superlift, the wheels are 16" x 8", and tires are 315/75/16

Yes the 6.2 is going BYE, BYE !!!!! It smokes really BAD on cold starts, and stinks pretty bad. The truck has never been driving in the winter, so really I don't trust it to be very reliable for me in the Iowa winters.

With the smell, smoke and the wimpy 150hp it's just not worth it to me. My last tank of fuel I averaged 12.6mpg. I've always been a HP junky, if it won't light up the trires then it's gone !!!!! The 6.2 is scary slow !!!!!

I"m with you. I like to feel the torque too. Yep, they are no powerhouse. I'd also agree if you looking for reliability in the winter, get rid of the 6.2. Sounds like you're on the right track.

Do you know which BBC you're going with yet? What generation? Crate? Or just gonna find a rebuilder in same year era?

6.2 soon to be 454
Yes I just picked up a 454 out of a auto salvage yard last week. They said it was a 1974 and it came out of a truck. But after running the casting numbers 3963512 with a date code of H 25 70. The heads are 1974 781"s so my guess the 70 454 was put into a 1974 truck and someone put on the 781's and ran with it.

I just took apart the engine today and everything looks very rebuildible. The block has NEVER been bored  . I will be taking it over to the machine shop this week and have them inspect everything and if everything checks out I will have them bore the block +.030 and rebuild the 781's and talk to them about what cam and what compression to go with. Then probably just have them do the build.
