New steering pump and still leaks power steering fluid. Do I need a different pump or Lucas stop leak?

Howdy all,

My power steering on this truck has been the bane of my existence. The pump is a new lares 12348 and I have custom high pressure lines made because my newly purchased high pressure lines kept splitting.

We also have a Borgeson tight gear ratio box.

My issue is that it leaks like crazy which looks to be from maybe the lid on the pump? I ordered a new pump cap via lares and it will be here Monday.

Should I put some Lucas power steering leak stop in this too? What’s the detriment of it?

Should I change the pump style? What do y’all think?

Over filled? Maybe the dip stick is wrong?

I would consider a new rubber seal ring inside the cap. Do you have air in the system? I have a '65 Thunderbird that will was shooting fluid out of the cap until I remedied it, it churns like crazy in there with air bubbles.

Had leaks from the cap 2 times and it was both times my fault. Not bleed the entire air out of the system. Overfilled.
