This is one of the nicer shows in the Baton Rouge "area" and I really look forward to attending. There are always some nice vehicles and the setting is nice. This year it was cloudy and overcast but there was no rain and the temp hovered around 70F for most of the day. It was kind of spread out and I had an awful parking spot, but it was still a nice time.

I mostly focused on pics of Square Body trucks for this forum.

This '67 1966 Impala SS really captured my attention. This car was in superb condition. Still had the glass bottle of windshield washer fluid in the bracket under the hood. I know a few of you have a thing for the Impalas of the '60s, I thought about @bucket and a few others when I saw this car.

This one belonged to a very lovely lady, her husband painted the front hubs pink to make sure folks knew it was HER Blazer. They even installed pink shock boots all around.

That Blue SS Impala is a 1966

Yep, sure is. And looks SUPER nice! I'll bet that little 283 runs sweet too.

Okay, I went back and edited my post. Dammit...

We were trying to decide what size motor was in the car. I was thinking possibly a 327. Nothing we could find on the car told us what it was, obviously it was a small block.

It definitely had the 2 speed PowerGlide Transmission which they put behind both the 283 and the 327 in those cars.

It has the crossflags on the fender which means V8. Iirc, the 327 cars got the callout with the crossflags. But now I don’t remember for sure. My dad's car was a 283. Originally there would have been a decal on the air cleaner. 2bbl 283 was 190 horse, 4bbl was 220 I think. I don't recall the 327 rating in '66. In '67 it was 275 horse on the big cars.

@bucket is right, it has 283 flags on it. Doesn't necessarily mean it's so, but...... Don't remember about the horse power ratings in 66 327? The 62,63,64 327 big cars were 250 and 300 horsepower with the 65 Chevelles and the 66 ChevyIIs all the way up to 350 horses........L79???

I will not pretend to know more than either of you on this one.

The Impala was so perfect that I would bet it had the original engine. I am almost positive there was nothing on the breather cover to identify it because we were looking for something to tell us what motor it had.

I should have posted this pic earlier, the Impala had the triangular bottle of GM Opti-Kleen on the driver's side inner fender.

Yeah, dad's Impala had the bottle too. I wish he wouldn't have sold that car. It was super super clean and all original too, besides an extremely nice repaint.

And this pic was taken for Ayden, @AyWoSch Motors :

Where the heck has @AyWoSch Motors been? Haven’t noticed him for a while.
