Hey everyone name is Sam and I’m from Denver Colorado. Recently purchased my dream truck. 1980 K10. In rough condition but I have dreams of making it awesome. New to this so I need some help and look forward to all the knowledge this group has to offer. Thanks again for allowing me in.

Here’s what I got. K10 but I’m tearing it down to bare frame and I’m thinking about turning it into a rwd. Trying to get an idea if this is even possible.

Might would be easier to obtain a 2wd frame instead of welding on tabs and such for front 2wd control arms and the crossmember?
Or, obtain a donor 2wd and cut its goods off and do the swap.

To bad you dont wanna keep her 4x4...were you reside sure seems like a no brainer ... i.m.o.

Hey Ron nice to meet you. I would love to chat while we are rebuilding these badass machine’s. Not sure how to start a build thread but I will figure it out.
I know it would be sweet to keep as 4x4 but I already have a 4x4 and don’t plan on driving this truck very much. Just a nice date night truck with the wife and maybe some car shows.

Welcome from the Black Hills of South Dakota. Looks like you have a solid truck to start with. I too have a K10 short bed that I am hoping to get started on this fall.

Got the front end torn apart. Found a little rust on the inner wheel well and the right fender but those are easily replaced.
