Trying to remove the bed on my 74C 10, I’ve got all the bolts out except for two on the driver side which apparently run all the way through the auxiliary fuel tank, however I am not able to access the nuts because of these weird looking caps that I cannot seem to remove. They have a hole in the middle which fits a 3/8 drive socket wrench but after lots of WD-40 they still won’t budge. Has anyone else had any experience with these or know how to get them off?

Well, that's not a factory tank, and a hacksaw should work just dandy....

After more research you’re right, definitely not factory. Now just trying to figure how to go about cutting it off! Would be easiest to just angle grind a hole in the bottom to gain access to and cut the bolts but not sur that’s the best idea given spark and fuel....maybe just try to grind off the bolt heads and punch them out?

Thanks! I was stoked when I got it. Had one about 15 years ago, got rid of and been regretting ever since. It’s really dry, not much rust but here & there. Here’s some before and after of the interior which I’ve just completed...

Seats made by TMI, ordered from CJ Pony Parts, they have an awesome selection of parts for C 10’s, and even earn points for future purchases
