I'm Maria. I moved from Texas to Puerto Rico to start a nonprofit farm. I recently purchased a 1986 Chevy Custom Deluxe 10. Years ago, I dated a guy who used to take rusted old cars from fields and turn them into show winners. He didn't teach me anything because he thought that wasn't a woman thing, so here I am. I've remodeled a few houses, and I've changed a starter and alternator on a 1984 Camaro I used to have, so I know I can learn. I'm hoping I can ask dumb questions and not get dumb answers haha.

Welcome to the forum, from Houston, Texas. I grew up wrenching on square body trucks and our GM and Mopar cars with my Dad, he taught me a lot. Got some other learning from cousins and friends, now I'm working on my OBS trucks (and hoping to be able to get another square body truck to work on).
I'm a firm believer that girls can and should know about cars and trucks; how they go together, how they work, and how to fix them. There's not many of us on here, or on the GMT400/OBS trucks forum, but there's good guys on both of them who are usually willing to teach us.

Thank you for the welcome and encouragement, HotWheels! I put myself through college as a single mom and became a Reading Specialist in Tarrant Co., so I know how to learn new things and I have determination. Hopefully, there are a few guys on here willing to teach me some of their skills. I just started a nonprofit down here and I want to pass on what I learn to other people. I'm starting a farm with just me and my daughter and I need this truck to run well.
