Hello from Alberta. I factory ordered my 86 GMC K2500 Sierra Classic way back in the fall of 85 and have kept it all this time. Used it for work in the oil patch and pipelining for the first 5 years of its life, then added 6" lift, 35" mud terrains, replaced the 350 with a 454 and once the NP208 chain got stretched, installed an NP205 behind the SM465 trans. The truck has been garaged all it's life, in spite of being driven hard and put away wet at times, so is in great condition with a few war wounds. Unfortunately the truck has taken a back seat to being married with children and other life priorities, so has sat for many years. I am now just retired and it is time to move the truck to the top of the priority list and get the daily driver capability back, so am starting to dig into it and fix the rad, alternator, clutch, and update seals, gaskets, hoses and lines etc. Also try my hand at the usual rust repair that is limited to the cab corners, rockers, and rear wheel wells.

It was stolen and recovered about 8 yrs ago and the crooks blew up the gov-loc so will be rebuilding the front and rear ends and want to regear them. It came with 3.42 gears but would like to go to 3.73 or 4.10. I am leaning toward the 4.10s but any suggestions or recommendations would be welcomed?

Future plans would include interior update, gauges, serpentine kit, fuel injection, paint.

Cheers,

The winch and light have since been removed, but this it what it looked like in the 90s

The current pics are with the white hood and quad.

Yes I do. It is a Dick Cepek.
You want to sell it? I'm doing my K5 Blazer like a tribute to what I was driving when my wife and I met. Someone stole mine one night when her and I were on a date.

My thought has been to do the same thing. Coincidentally, that is what I was driving when I met my wife. So, not right now, but if I will keep it in mind if I decide otherwise.
