Did GM indicate if this number was for both Chevrolet and GMC combined, or just Chevy?Well, today received a received the report from GM Heritage. There were 37 V20 Stepsides made in 1987. Probably why I'd never seen one till now.
C =ChevyOld retired guy, not sure. It calls out model CV20903. V20 regular cab 3/4 ton 4x4. Total production 23,127
I'm a little surprised at those numbers.Well, today received a received the report from GM Heritage. There were 37 V20 Stepsides made in 1987. Probably why I'd never seen one till now. Correction, there were 38 made with one being a diesel and 37 being gas.
Amen.I'm a little surprised at those numbers.
We sold a ton to the Middle East (Saudi, Kuwait, etc).
I couldn't find the picture I was looking for but I have a photo that shows long wheel base steppers (red ones) at the port waiting to be shipped, as far as the eye can see.

Pretty sure our oilfield roustabout business had one of those 37 or 38 V20 stepsides. I know that we had 2 or 3 of them in the '80s that were diesels too, but pretty sure those were '82-'83 models. From 1961-1987 we had close to 50 8' stepside pickups. That is a cool find!Well, today received a received the report from GM Heritage. There were 37 V20 Stepsides made in 1987.
