New Member - '85 C20 Crew Cab

Hello everyone. Brand new member here. I have a 1985 C20 crew cab. It was a Texas/Colorado area truck (I found paperwork for both states buried in the truck) The truck now lives in Central New York in the Finger Lakes area. I am currently trying to fix some of the rats nests of wiring underneath the dash due to shoddy wiring by previous owners. The truck has decent sheet metal and a terrible grey primer over blue paint, paint job. I have the bed off the truck now because there was a large amount of red stone wedged between the cab and the bed. While the bed is off, I am going to remove and clean out the passenger side fuel tank, replace the 34+ year old fuel hoses and fill necks, install new shocks, repair the bed wiring harness, and make a harness for a brake controller and 7-pin connector. I don't have plans to "restore" the truck, but I like everything to be mechanically sound. Future plans include new engine, transmission, and cab mounts, find and fix some of the leaks, and replace the door and windows seals. Nothing major.

I look forward to learning from all of you and following along with everyone's builds. I'll add pictures after I hit the usual minimum thread post number.

Thanks everyone. I've always wanted my own square body. Timing just worked out this time. A kid crashed into my '09 Dodge Ram and insurance totaled it out. That left me truck-less during the summer with projects needing to be finished and a boat which needed towing. I just happened to pass by this truck while out on the motorcycle and stopped to take a look. Once I laid on the ground to look at the frame and the floors.... I knew the truck was mine.

Finally got around to snapping a few pictures. Got the trailer brake all wired in, some of the fuse box terminals, re-terminated since some of the fuse holders were broken due to those cheap stab in power taps. I also added a 10ga reverse wire and aux wire to the rear for the trailer plug so I can charge the winch battery as I drive around haul the trailer and have add additional reverse lights for "off-road use only" at the rear of the trailer to help me when extra light is needed. I have an used 7-pin plug I plan on making a pigtail for and mounting a couple eBay LED lights on magnets to add and remove the additional truck reverse lights to. Still some underhood wiring to clean up and fix. Then onto fixing leaks.... More photos and updates to come.
