Good morning everyone! Jamie here from South Florida, originally from eastern Long Island. Had plenty of trucks and hot rods, race boats, quads dirtbikes etc over the years and am excited to start a little project. My dad was a truck collector and recently passed, so I am going to do a little update on the truck, this one was his favorite and I am looking for some ideas and input, I appreciate it! Currently its bone stock, love the look, but also like the look of the lifted trucks from the 80s. Really thought the "Fall Guy" truck was pretty cool. Dont want to go overboard, but maybe a 4-6" lift, period correct 15x10 up to 15x2, 33-35s....minimum 12.5 wide up to whatever looks good. Probably a light bar with some old school lights, push bar, brushguard, winch, maybe lund visor with lights, maybe a cb with whip antenna. Not sure about the suspension but something that rides good around town (I know). I will do very light offroading so nothing radical. I appreciate any insight, pros cons and so on, I am wide open here with a blank slate. Heres a pic for reference, thanks again!

Good morning Jamie!
Frank here from northern AZ.
Sorry for your loss.
I have a V15 (GMC version) 4x4 from 1987.
Mine has a 4" lift (was told by previous owner it was 6") and 33x12.5 R15's on it.
I'm hoping to add most of those accessories you mentioned as well.
Looking forward to watching your progress!

Welcome from the Texas Panhandle.
That's a good lookin truck. Just a little bit taller tires and pull off the running boards would make it look even better.

Saw a cool truck kinda of the same bones....had the 33x15.5x16.5 on deep dish like 12" rims with maybe a 4" lift, kind of reminded me of a pull truck from back in the day. Anyone do anything like that? I would like to do something that you dont see every day.

Saw a beautiful Mecum truck, 4" lift, looks like MT classic IIs with bfg 33x12.5x15 with roll bar and lights....looked awesome, will not allow me to copy and paste or download the pic.

Welcome.
Condolences to you as well.
Beautiful truck! One of my favorite color combos. I actually thought about going white instead of the (original) dark blue stripe when we repainted the 86. And still would consider wrapping the dark blue in white…
