Good afternoon all! I'm new to the forum, and I'm really thankful for the wealth of knowledge that I'm already finding here. A buddy of mine had a 1986 C30 SRA longbed that his wife absolutely hated looking at... Squarebodies being my favorite all time truck, he made me a deal I couldn't refuse... The truck has a SM465 and he was really hoping to hang onto the truck to eventually build an off road rig of some sort using the tranny from the C30... So the deal is that I would remove the "eyesore" for free as long as I give him the trans sometime between now and when he retires in 15 years (we're both cops with the same dept). The truck needs a ton of work but it's a diamond in the rough for me, as I can see tons of potential through the rust, mechanical, and wiring issues! For now it runs, drives and stops (well kinda).
