I just realized I never really posted an intro. How rude of me.
Anyway, I just bought an 87 k10 Silverado about 2mos ago? Half the stuff on it doesn't work, but it's got a pretty damn solid body and frame, a decent running 350, and a shifting transmission.
It still needs so much, it's actually a little overwhelming at times.
I put a new radiator in it right off the bat (which I knew....big crack.....fun drive home) and a few other little things. I'm currently working over the interior, and I have a pile of parts on my front porch already.
So far I know it needs......dash pad repaired, seat cover, tilt wheel fixed, various bulbs, carpet, door seals, ac repair, battery holder and RH inner fender, one cab corner, new right side fuel tank/pump/sender, tank valve/switch, inner door panel repairs, fresh paint, and a hell of a lot of cleaning and refreshing. I plan on lifting it a bit down the road.
I'm a full time manager for a waste company (15yrs of working my way up) and a full time single dad to a 7yo little girl.
I've never taken a car/truck/motorcycle to a mechanic in the 22yrs I've been driving, I've painted a couple of cars, rebuilt and swapped some import engines, etc etc, so this isn't really new to me (but at the same time sort of is)?
I'm not exactly sure why I took this job on. Mostly because its satisfying to fix ****, but I've also always loved square bodies (my grandfather always had them, too).
So that's me.
You guys have already been quite helpful with a few things, so thank you for that.
