I've had that mentality stall a project for a long time, I've also had it stop me doing a project. I would just get it back together and driving. I think that would motivate me later on to do all those other projects knowing I already have an operational vehicle.

Just yesterday I had almost convinced myself to do this. I think that will be what I do now. Thanks for the tip. I had started this project with the plan to make sure it was safe and drivable then make upgrades after. So I wanted to replace rubber brake lines, pads, things that were likely to leak, etc. Then it was totally refresh the rolling chassis and put the body back on to drive it. The more I took off the more I wanted to replace. It has been a year now with one task waiting on another, waiting on yet something else. I need to just get it back together with new paint on the parts going back on.

Not sure if I will use them or switch to the smaller ones. I like the tow mirrors on my duramax so the extra real estate is nice and keeping them saves me from filling holes in the door. I also think they look kinda goofy on there though. I will keep you in mind though.

Im one of the few guys on her that likes them. I like how much you can see out of them. My drivers is smashed and our local parts yards never have em. I like that yours is a 78, most i see on here often are 80s

Yeah one of mine has the glass broken in it. With how poorly the doors close, once you slam the door you can't see anything out of them either. You can see more with them though. I had a 78 k10 that had the little ones, they looked nice but you don't see much behind you.

Welcome to GMSB. Looking forward to the build thread. How low do you want to go? Rather than buy a piece here and there to do it, I think I'd just wait til I could get a Belltech or similar 2/4 lowering kit.

I too think I'd just fine wet sand it and then satin clear it.
