Hey Everyone,
I picked up a new (to me) 1985 Chevy C10 Silverado a few months ago. It's got the original, faded but still there 80's black paint, a smogged 305 complete with A.I.R. pump and all original emissions stuff. It is pretty much all stock, but somebody took a lot of care of it - almost no rust. Mileage is pretty low, around 80K. Power windows, power locks and an AM/FM radio. I had to drive deep in the Pennsylvania to get it, but it was all worth it.
Anyhow, I've been reading this board for weeks without ever posting anything. There's a lot of info out there already and I've got a list of things that I need to do for this old truck of mine.
1) Replace the vent window rubber. The vents have to come apart for this - but I found a link http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5224
2) Get the AC working again. Yeah, that's right, air conditioning. Hole in the condenser. Need a new one...
3) Fix crazy annoying lifter tick - begins shortly after starting, stops after it warms up. Not loud, but... New lifters maybe? I'll end up posting a message about this.
4) Figure out what dang carb is on this thing. Looks like an E4ME, but there's no O2 sensor on the exhaust. Anybody know how this works?
Despite all that, I really like this truck. I planned on just driving it now and again, but I've been driving it a lot more just because it is so much fun. I'm going to drive that little 305 for quite a while yet...
Take it easy,
Delkra
