Hey I have aN 85 Chevy k10 Outdoorsman. Back in November it got cold and froze the engine blocks and cracked the head it has a 350 in it with over 300,000 miles so I'm just going to buy a new engine instead of rebuilding. Need ideas of what to put in it rather just get a crate 350 or something else and also if I should stick with a carb or convert it to efi. Just looking for ideas and opinions not gonna do anything major til after Feb or March.

All I know about the k10 Outdoorsman is in 1985 Chevy made a limited numbe of them and some came with a rifle and the trucks themselves have a lift and on the side the say custom deluxe 10 and on the bed they say Outdoorsman. They alsko made the s10, s10 blazer, and k5 blazer in the same trim package but since I've looked them up I've only found 1 other person with one

What's your budget like? If the truck is all original, you might consider just getting yours rebuilt as rare as those trucks are.

My wife uncle is an amazing mechanic since the corvettes he built in the early 90s won nationals and his advice was to get a new engine and drop it in... him doing to swap for $250 and keeping to original if I every decided to sell it and getting it rebuilt later... he saI'd it poll cost $2000 to rebuild it with as much damage as it took from freezing up... that way wito a new engine I have a warranty

you would be completely insane to go through a dealership to buy a SBC
