Just about to install the second tank in my M1010. 6.2 Diesel engine. Looking at the valve I purchased there is a sticker on it that states "Warranty void if filter is not installed between the tank and the valve". The 6.2 vehicles (CUCV's) have a sock in the tank and the main filter in the engine bay. Has anyone installed a filter between the tank and the valve? Can I assume the sock is filter enough? Adding two (2) filters seems crazy. IMO.

I know you guys like pictures.....so here's one of the sticker.

And here's one for the filler neck I hope to use. It came from a M1009.

I would agree that adding two filters is a bit much....especially since the factory dual tank set-up doesn't have filters between the valve and tanks. I'd say the option is up to you. While adding filters wouldn't hurt, it would add a little time & money to the install. On the other hand, if your tanks and in-tank socks are in good shape, I think you would be just fine.

Just outta curiosity...how long is the warranty on the valve? And what part number valve is that?

I don't know the warranty on the valve. I got it from LMC awhile back and just now getting around to installing it.....mostly because I did not have a method to fill the right side. I hve some M1009 parts that I am going to try to make work for that. Here is the LMC info:
32-3293 Selector Valve Chevy GMC "D" 6 Port 81-89 $69.95

I think I will put it in without the filters before the valve. Both tanks are new in the last few months. Thanks for your thoughts.
