Just stick with AC Delco parts. Did you take an emissions test and fail or just prepping for it?

Well two years ago it failed and my dad just registered it out in the boonies. That's no longer an option and acdelco parts are too dang expensive like 10 dollars for a spark plug and almost 100 for an o2 sensor I make minimum wage so I can't afford that

I don't know where you got 10 bucks for a spark plug they are 2.29 for a stock replacement for a tbi motor

if you put anything in it but ac delco you will be replacing them sooner costing you double

just use ac delco and get it over with

shop ebay they have good prices for ac delco stuff

no I am not a die hard ac delco fan but I do believe in using oem parts I would use autolite spark plugs in a ford

I've seen it over and over. When you use the over the counter parts, chances are you will be replacing them again in the near future. That has been my experience. There are some after market parts that are dependable (mallory, msd, accel) but you don't save any on the cost. SO for me, OEM and after markets mentioned are the only way to go.

How do you know it is running rich, is it blowing black smoke?

You still running the original catalytic converter? Mine was just a burned-out shell at 150k and replacing it made a huge difference on emissions.

Pull the valve cover off the dead cylinder and check the rocker arms condition and the movement of them is correct.

Could be a valve is stuck open causing the loss of compression, if a valve is stuck open on that cylinder then give it a tap with a hammer, it`ll probably snap shut. Also, if there has been that much fuel passing through the cylinders, the compression will likely not be up to what it could be. Get the engine to running and change the oil immediately, there will be a lot of gas in the oil and can cause the engine to seem like it is running rich when in fact it is the gas, clinging to the cylinder walls and components that is making it run rich.
Burning that rich will more than likely be the O2 sensor.
Have You checked the dist. cap and rotor. If there is an blackish carbon looking stuff built up on the rotor and inside of the cap then replace the plug wires too.
I use Delco when I can get it, I have tried the "Standard" parts and they seemd of a good quality and they lasted, IE, the plug wires, dist, cap and rotor.
