Is this unusual to have auto hubs on a 84 K30? Never seen them on a Dana 60 before. Not the best pic but it's 150 degrees out and this will have to do.

My 85 has them. I assume that they are standard equipment.

Auto hubs for K30's were an option (not standard equipment) for only 3 years, 82-84 or 83-85 (can't remember exactly). If equipped with auto hubs, the truck should have a synchronized np205. The syncro'd 205 is fine unless you want to do a 32 spline front output upgrade, the shift collars, etc are all different from a non syncro'd version.

I was wondering because the Dana 60 in my 85 came from a 85 CUCV. I have seen a LOT of CUCV's and never seen auto hubs.

CUCV’s never got auto hubs, they didn’t get any convenience options that I’m aware of.

I used to own a pair of NOS auto hubs for a D60. That's all I have to add here, lol.

@nvrenuf I *think* it was '82-'84. I don't recall ever hearing of or seeing a syncro, round pattern 205 case. Do you?

Excellent point. All of the syncro’d 205’s I’ve had / seen were the figure 8 pattern, since the ‘85+ tcases are round pattern 82-84 would be correct.

It is definitely because of the synchro 205. They are a different beast inside compared to any other 205. If I remember right there was some kind of identifier to be able to tell if it's a synchro from the outside.
