Thanks guys, I have got nothing done to it. It is way to cold to be motivated enough to work on it outside. I need to shift some vehicles around and get it in the shop. Ordered a hurst kit for the 3 speed lol lets see how it improves it. I see some old chevys with straight 6 with a turbo still on leaf springs full steel running 8's. Underrated. They sound rad too..I'll get better pictures of it soon. I bought it to ls swap it but keeping it different will make a more interesting build.

I vote stay straight 6!

Same here. If you really want to do something different put a turbo on it. Doesn't have to run 8s, it would just be interesting. However, as scarce as unmolested versions of these trucks are getting it might be a nice thing to just keep it mostly original.

Not a bad idea at all. I always try to make all my modifications reversible. So I'd find the right 6 cyl and keep the original one, pickled, in a crate. Just to preserve the legacy.

Well he asked what we thought... that's what I would do. Might settle for a 383... high compression on propane of course, I forgot to add.

I think the propane is implied with all your posts.

Nice truck, very unique color. I'd leave it the way it is and drive it. Maybe only do minor upgrades to make it drive/handle better.
