Just finished installing this "brand new" 2004 Alpine radio in my 82 C10. A buddy had planned to use it in a 37 Chevy he's been building for 14 years (!), but it was too deep and hit the AC evaporator box.

It was a PITA to install in my truck, but definitely worth the effort.

The dash corner speakers are some cheesy aftermarket models, which I'll eventually replace with some better stuff. My old radio was a 70s-80s Sony with manual tune and no pushbuttons, so the new one is light years better at pulling in stations. It's also easier to use and sounds better.

Very nice!
Was that a 'blank' you cut or a radio delete panel you used?

It's OK, but the rear piece that looks like metal was NOT metal in my kit, just plastic.

That said, the radio is held securely by the DIN sleeve tabs gripping the metal dash. Even with >6" depth, there is no up/down movement at all, so I didn't have to use a support strap.
