let me break this down for you

dodge nv4500 were 29spline nv4500HD
chevys had 32spline nv4500

so take a empty nv4500 it needs to have a dodge input(the part that goes to the motor) then seeing is you already have a very rare and expensive 29spline np205 you need a 29spline output on the nv4500

so bottom line here is you need a dodge 29spline nv 4500HD

I had my nv4500 custom built with a dodge front(so it connected to the Cummins) and I wanted to reuse my np208 Chevy transfer case so I had them put a 32spline output
In the older NV4500s, like around 1994 and earlier, I'm pretty sure the Dodge NV4500's had better gear ratios anyway. Somewhere shortly after 94 or 95, not positive on the cut off year, so don't quote me GM changed theirs to be better. But the Dodge's have been good ratios all the way through so if you get a Dodge NV4500, you've got the good ratio no matter the year IIRC.

Great info here by the way. Thanks @kleedus and @marks86 for the input.

I am not sure but I think the dodge nv4500 has the 5 gear nut problem worse than the chevy nv4500. something with the angle on the threads not able to hold the torque if I remember right.
