Sorry for the thread jack, that car has Ohio Historical plates on it too, Now the factory 421 and 4 Speed would be valuable for quick responses to locations where people need help

Superior built Caddies in Lima, the Pontiacs were built in Kosciusko, MS.

Ohio has had more professional car coach builders than any other state.

That is probably true, but TX has more show truck/van/SUV manufactuers than any other state IIRC as far as now days or recent years.

Back then, the ambulance service was also the local funeral home. The funeral director had ordered it as he also had a 1966 GTO 389/3x2/4 speed. He said that 8400 lb. behemoth would kick the sh*t out of his GTO!

Traction off the line thanks to all that weight. My dad and I used to talk about how cool an old Hearse, ambulance or combination coach would be. I thought about mortuary school or becoming a funeral director as a career. Some ambulance services are still owned by funeral homes too.

Another question I have is did any Canadian Pontiacs ever come with my favorite "Pontiac" engine the OHC-6? It was a Chevy 230 or 250 block with a special head.

I'm not sure about the special head, but I'm certain some Pontiacs came with the Chevy 250 I-6.

I have a degree in mortuary science. :)

The OHC 6 was all Pontiac but it was a 230 (1967-68) or 250 L6 (1968-69) with a overhead cam. With a 4 bbl, those things would haul ass.
