Just a modification I did to my 82'gmc short box 4x4 I thought I would share.u know the factory steering wheel/leg clearance issues when getting in and out ? I took a 76'monte carlo steering column and built a new mount for under dash to accommodate the shorter column.results were fantastic.steering wheel is 2"away from u maybe three.huge comfort gain.paired with a grant steering wheel and plush bucket seats it almost feels like driving a monte carlo.its an easy swap.the mount is simple to make or just extend the upper portion with part of a different mount for the mounting studs under dash.hope this helps with your knees squeezing under the wheel .it eliminated mine....that's my modification for the week......
