Looking to drop my 86 short bed and would like to know what’s the lowest I can go without having to cut or notch anything on the frame and what’s a good place for a complete package with everything I need to get the job done.

Thanks

4 inches front, 6 inches rear....drop coils and spindles up front and rear axle flip kit in the back. Any lower up front and you will encounter clearance issues. You also need to consider what size tires and wheels you have as well.

Honestly not sure with what wheels I want to go with as of yet, it won’t be anything bigger than 18” if I do go bigger than 15’s.

So I can do a flip without having to notch the frame?

Yes, you can do a flip kit, however...if you load the bed of your truck and use it as a truck...a mini notch would be highly recommended.

btw...mini notch's run about $126.

Ended up going with this kit from DJM for now...I don’t think I’m looking to go much lower so hopefully this will be it.

Any tips or tricks for doing the flip kit, my garage is loaded and only have limited space to work on the truck...is this something I need to take the bed off for or am I fine with it on?

It will be just me working on it as well so any advice is much appreciated.

I am still shopping for the kit I want but heard some bad reviews on djm and had been avoiding their kits. No experience with any of them though.

when you say mini notch you mean like the bolt in stuff djm or belltech and stuff sell?

what are your thoughts on doing a notch like that and the strength of the frame if loading the bed or pulling a trailer?
